Rob began coaching at the KW Diving Club in 2006. His primary coaching responsibility within the dive club is focused on the National level athletes, and the overall development of the competitive program
Rob Wells
Head Coach
Rob has taken National level divers to both the Junior and Senior National Championships over the course of his tenure as Head Coach. His athletes consistently achieve top twelve placings, and have earned numerous medals and National Championships. He has had a diver on the Junior National team, and his divers are routinely identified for high performance development programs by Diving Plongeon Canada, and Dive Ontario. Rob’s divers have competed, and medalled, internationally at the Junior Pan Am Games, the Dresden International Meet in Germany, the British Elite Jr. Championships, and the Madrid Open Diving Age Group meet. Most recently, Rob had a diver earn Outstanding Diver of the Meet at the Speedo Junior Development Nationals in 2019. All of these accomplishments speak to the commitment Rob makes in developing a strong relationship with his athletes. Rob’s passion for helping divers achieve their personal goals is outstanding and recognized by both his divers and their families.

Assistant Coach
We are looking for a provincial level Aspire coach, who can identify strengths and weaknesses, implements training and practice strategies; develops skills and capabilities; motivates and prepares divers for competitive events. In conjunction with team, develops team strategies and policies.

Assistant Coach
Responsibilities:
- Perform duties in for the KW Diving Club in accordance with the mission, objectives, By-
Laws, regulations, and policies established by the Board of Directors. - Coaches Aspire athletes to their full potential; identifies needs, develops individualized
training plans, and oversees strength, dryland and pool training in conjunction with the
head coach. - Keeps program statistics to track success; reviews and recommends new programs,
program expansion or program amendments. - Represents KW Diving Club to community, government agencies, media and other
organizations as required. - Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- National Coaching Certification Program – Competitive Introduction Trained as a Diving
Coach, certification an asset. (or a comparable sport) - 3 years coaching experience.
- Written and verbal communication skills to interact with parents and stakeholders,
make presentations and respond to the media. - Analytic skills to assess program data and information, and to make recommendations
for future programming. - Computer skills to monitor and assess athlete progression, program data, and data entry
for the on-line registration system. - 2-year diploma in a related field (e.g. sport team management, business management,
kinesiology), is an asset. - Vulnerable Sectors Police check
Job Status: Current Part time contract with opportunity to develop to Full time
Hours of Work: approximately 20 hours/week
Compensation: to be discussed based on qualifications
Reports to: KWDC Head Coach
